A Virtual Tour of Our Greenhouse in January

My friend Katherine shared these chocolate beauty peppers with me.

One of the greatest pleasures of owning a greenhouse is that even in the Winter everything is still colorful and green and alive!  While most of the plants outside are dormant there is a show going on inside the Greenhouse.

I thought I would share with you my recent peek at the greenhouse this past weekend.

I love how alive and vibrant all the colors are!

The promise that summer is just around the bend….

Nice to go out and pick crisp sweet peppers on the vine for a salad in the middle of January!

This is one of our last tomato plants we were able to pick some cherry tomatoes in January to go on our salad too!

Hope you enjoyed the Virtual Tour of my greenhouse in January!  If you live in Coastal North Carolina try to stay dry the weather is nasty out there.  Oh and thanks so much for stopping in…..

Fondly,
my siggie :)

  1. I am so jealous!
Cannot wait until gardening season, nothing like fresh from the garden produce.
The hibiscus is nice too, and the other flowers and green…….kinda cold and white here.

  2. Have you started any seeds yet? I have some peas going that need to be transplanted, but nothing else, yet.

  3. Katherine…..we will be starting this weekend…we have to get ready for our next plant sale! I will definitely let you know what I will be planting I was thinking of blogging on my strategies….although as you know…”the best laid plans…;)”

    1. Thanks so much! We built our greenhouse on a shoe string budget…I will see if I can find the post and if not I will have to post how we did it! I finally got an SLR camera for Christmas so excited to use it on my blog!

  4. I’d love to have a green house, any kind would do. Wouldn’t it be great to have one of those glassed in kind with the brick floors, large enough to add seating? The sort you see in English countryside manors? You could sit in comfort all winter long and pick fresh produce!

    1. I know what you mean Kathy those huge solariums they always show Europe! Yes absolutely that would be so cool! We could just put the breakfast nook in there and just pull a kumquat off of one of our citrus trees! I can just picture it!

    1. Teresa we had dreamed of one for years and a couple of years finally invested the time and the energy to build it……its a labor of love but this is the time of year we truly reap its benefits. We also use it for seed starting…which is another post coming soon. Thanks for stopping by!

I Love Hearing From All Of You! Thanks for sharing!
