“Celebration Giveaway” From Baker Creek Heirloom Seed Co.

We have had to postpone our blog hop this week due to Linky Tools Server issues but I do have exciting news about our Blog “Celebration Giveaways” from Baker Creek Heirloom Seed Co. too!   Today is the big day to enter to win one of these two fabulous prizes!  This is my thank you to all of my readers and to hopefully maybe some new readers too.  I am also thankful to Baker Creek Heirloom Seed Co. for sponsoring this amazing giveaway!  Also here is a link to their digital seed catalog!

Here are our two giveaway items…

Item No. 1 – Retail Value – $29.99 (Photo at top)

The first item is a wonderful book from Baker Creek Heirloom Seed Co.titled “The Heirloom Life Gardener” by Jere & Emilee Gettle Co-founders of the Baker Creek Heirloom Seed Co. with Meghan Sutherland

“[Gettle is] the Indiana Jones of seeds.” – The New York Times Magazine.

It is an autographed copy and the photographs in this book are just beautiful!  The photographs are crisp and vibrant and they simply pop on each page.  This book covers topics such as growing up with Heirloom Seeds, Seeds in America, and includes How To Garden and an A to Z Growing Guide.  Whether you are a beginner gardener/homesteader or if you have been gardening/homesteading for years this book will become a treasure that you will want to have on your bookshelf for years to come!  Many seed companies sell seeds but not many tell you how they grow them and how they cook them…..the Gettles make a personal connection with you through this book.  I was lucky enough to review it for all of you but I am definitely going to purchase my own copy because it’s that good!

Item No. 2  – Retail Value $40.00

The other item we have is a 5 pack of Heirloom Vegetable Seeds from Baker Creek Heirloom Seed Co.  housed in a plastic terra-cotta self watering-pot with some gardening gloves and a decorative spray bottle.  Here are the seed packets that Baker Creek Heirloom Company sent me for this giveaway:

Clemson Spineless Okra – 30 seeds

Lettuce Forellenschluss –  250 seeds

Squash Early  Golden Summer Crookneck – 20 seeds

Tomato Riesentraube – 25 seeds

Cucumber Marketmore 76 – 25 seeds

You have to go read these seed links because each one has a unique story to tell one of the things I love about heirloom seeds.    For example, the Tomato Riesentraube is valued by seed collectors and this plant produces large yields!

All seeds are packaged for 2012.    Over 350 seeds!  What a great value!  If you are just beginning to garden/homestead this will be a great start for you.  If you are an experienced gardener/homesteader this will be a fantastic opportunity to try new varieties.

So here are the terms of this giveaway I really want to keep things simple so every time you enter and comment that you entered you get entered in the giveaway but you can’t comment/enter more than three times.   You will have three opportunities…

  • The first opportunity is to Like Baker Creek Heirloom Seed Co. on Facebook if you already like them go and sign up for their E-newsletter  or just go to their Facebook page and tell them Lil’ Suburban Homestead sent you 🙂   They are a great company so its one most of us are going to want to connect with anyway.
  • The Second Opportunity is to Like Lil’ Suburban Homestead on Facebook.(It is also linked on the sidebar of this blog)  If you do just comment on my Facebook page maybe share how you found my blog and what you would do with the giveaway either one if you were to receive it……..I always enjoy a good chat on the front porch 😉
  • The Third Opportunity is to follow Lil’ Suburban Homestead on Twitter.(This is located in the sidebar on the right as well)  I Love, Love, Love Twitter and hope to have more friends on Twitter with me…..:)

So there it is simple enough I think or at least I hope so!  Just make sure to let me know each time you participate in one of the opportunities so that you can be entered when you comment at the bottom because each time you do you get another entry in the drawing (up to 3 entries are allowed per person).  Winners will be  randomly selected via Random.org and announced  next Friday night when I release “The Ole’ Saturday Homesteading Trading Post”!  So exciting….Words can’t really express to all of you how much I look forward to this blog hop each week and announcing our Giveaway winners!

Sorry the blog hop is postponed for now due to Linky Tools server issues.   Have a great weekend everyone!

Good Luck Everyone!  Thanks for celebrating with us and have a great weekend!

Fondly,

my siggie :)

    1. I agree it would have been a very difficult life and with some of my medical issues I have had I would not be alive most likely….but I do think they were more aware of the seasons, the earth, in touch with the land and each other. Thanks so much for your comment and for stopping by!
