This week not only do I have the opportunity to interview Kris at Attainable Sustainable on my radio show Lil’Suburban Homestead with Karen Lynn this coming Tuesday night at 9pm Eastern but I also was afforded an opportunity to review her latest collaboration with some other fabulous bloggers which is a fabulous cookbook titled “Off the Shelf-Homemade Alternatives to the Condiments, Toppings, and Snacks You Love” It’s one of my favorite topics because it’s a cookbook that is near and dear to my heart making healthier versions of fast food recipes with many ingredients you can easily have in your pantry!

This review is not only for the average consumer that wants to get healthier but it will be intriguing for preppers as well!

I have long loved condiments and toppings to the point where I will spend a good 30 minutes before dinner getting the table ready for our fixin’s bar for baked potatoes or even ice-cream! Life is more exciting with toppings so for me it was really tough when I started eating gluten-free and gave up more traditional toppings like bread crumbs and croutons too. What is really great about this cook book is that Kris really dives into the nitty gritty of what is in your food at the grocery store and do you really know!

If you don’t want to wait and see if you win a copy and you need to get this now!  off the shelf

Click here to purchase your own copy!  You will be glad you did!

The recipes are beautiful and colorful and I did choose some favorites so far my faves are:

Tomato Jam For Grown Ups – Oh yum I don’t know about you but I’m a sucker for a great tomato and you give me a spread like this and I am going to gobble it up!

Also the easy aoili I think a lot of folks make aoli’s too complicated and this one looks easy to make and delicious!

and I loved the recipe for slow cooker bone broth and fresh pumpkin puree you all know I believe pumpkin is an underutilized squash we can all use so much more of it than we do and it’s tasty!

Can you tell I’m a complete condiment addict? 😉

I also love that their is a complete section in this cookbook devoted to those pantry items we all love to keep I have to say I am elated with this cookbook from beginning to end!  Beyond thrilled I had a chance to read it and review it for all of you!

Please feel free to ask questions in the comments section as there is no way I can accurately share everything included from cover to cover!

Easy-Aioli

You are the lucky ones because you all get a chance to win a copy of this fabulous e-book and if you do you are going to want to tell your friends about it I have to say it has been one of my favorite cookbooks I have reviewed because you see I have to pay very close attention to what I put in my body and I can’t eat a lot of chemicals I am very sensitive to them so this cookbook met me where I am at for sure in terms of eating healthy and eating good! I like my food for sure! It tastes better when you know where your food comes from anyway and Kris will compel you to spend the few extra minutes on your food to feel better about eating it as well. Food is universal, we all need it, and we can also make sure it nourishes us too!

Don’t forget to join us this Tuesday night at 9pm on the Prepper Broadcasting Network when I interview Kris about her blog, her homestead and this fantastic cook book “Off The Shelf -Homemade Alternatives to the Condiments, Toppings, and Snacks You Love”! It’s going to be so much fun and so informative!

Now time to enter the giveaway for this fabulous cookbook! Good luck!

Fondly,

siggie

  1. Thank you, Karen. My hubby is the main cook of the house. He like to mix up his own condiments and such. I think he’ll like this book.
