First of all I am so excited that I had so many bloggers participate in the soup recipe round-up for fall! We managed to put together in total 40+ amazing Soup Recipes and I even added a couple of broth recipes as well.
I don’t know about you but when I was a little girl I wasn’t a huge soup lover and our family ate canned soup anyway. My Mom or Dad made chilli thought fairly often and I loved it! I didn’t know then was that my future self would love homemade soup. I now know that I just didn’t really like canned soup and then the only soup that I did love was a comfort food soup “Cream of Mushroom soup”.
My favorite book when I was a little girl was a book called “Stone Soup” I have learned later in life that almost ever culture has a version of this story and I loved that magically soup could be created out of just a stone. I learned later that a sense of community and some leftover summer harvest actually accomplished the soup in its entirety. Now here I am 44 years old and I think anytime you put home cooked and prepared foods with proper seasonings, and homemade broth you can create a magical food…it provides, healing, a sense of calm in some cases, definitely a sense of comfort in all cases and I decided there is no better day than on this beautiful cool fall day in North Carolina to share this post with all of you!
